Discover how listening to podcasts can boost your performance at work.
In practice, putting on a podcast while you work has lots of benefits. Their effect on the mind goes beyond pure entertainment: they can become a real source of inspiration.
On the one hand, they can give us motivation, because many of them share stories from people who have the same worries as we do, or who have overcome things so big that whatever we’re going through suddenly seems much smaller.
They also help us concentrate: unlike music, focusing on words makes that “spin cycle” our head sometimes gets stuck in disappear, almost as if we were doing yoga.
And of course, there’s learning. Podcasts are wonderful sources of knowledge: some of the most respected professional voices are just one click away, sharing their ideas for free.
And yes, it’s great to write your reports to the beat of Bad Bunny (well, maybe not that great), but this way you’ll keep learning as you go.

The podcasts we recommend listening to at work
Need some inspiration? Here are 12 podcasts to listen to at work that you shouldn’t miss. They’re all in Spanish – perfect if you’re learning the language or want to get to know Spain better. We’ve picked a bit of everything, from wild humour to more serious shows, and every one of them is worth it. Let’s meet them!
La rosa de los vientos
This long-running Onda Cero radio show also has a podcast version. Hosted by Silvia Casasola and Bruno Cardeñosa, it takes us on journeys through history and science. If you like the subject, it’s full of curious facts and anecdotes you probably didn’t know.
Madera de escritor
Our next pick is for anyone who loves writing. It’s available on Spotify, and we chose it because it’s so simple: short episodes of barely ten minutes each, full of practical tips to improve your writing.
Por si las voces vuelven
You may know him from the TV shows Sé lo que hicisteis or El Club de la Comedia, but in recent years Ángel Martín has become one of the leading voices on mental health in the podcast world.
Por si las voces vuelven, named after his best-selling book, brings us stories from well-known and anonymous people about difficult situations they managed to overcome, such as suicide attempts, depression or dramatic break-ups.
Bajo tu punto de vista
Straight from the heart of Llum Coworking comes the podcast by our fellow coworker Vanesa Muñoz and her partner, Jorge Rodres. Lively interviews that dig into people’s experiences with no limits, prejudices or filters. As raw as it is fun. Don’t miss it!
Aprendemos juntos
This great show by BBVA is pure gold. On Aprendemos juntos you’ll find some of the most outstanding speakers in Spain talking about very current topics in an approachable way.
Con C de Copy
If you like the world of marketing, we recommend this one, which you’ll find on Spotify, YouTube and Apple Podcasts. It’s run by four copywriters who cover all kinds of advertising topics in a really fun way.
Nadie sabe nada
Humour is a natural energiser that can help us shake off nerves and tension and get back to work. There are lots of comedy podcasts, but the most popular in Spain is Nadie sabe nada, a hilarious hour with two comedy geniuses: Andreu Buenafuente and Berto Romero.

Los cuentos de la IAIA
Los Cuentos de la IAIA is an innovative and hilarious show made at Llum Coworking (our fellow coworker Sandra is part of it).
The formula is simple: the team creates crazy stories with the help of artificial intelligence and then performs them like an old-fashioned radio drama. The result? You won’t be able to stop laughing.
Las noches de Ortega
Another one we recommend is a real classic, although because of its late-night live slot you may never have heard it.
It’s Las noches de Ortega, a fun interview podcast with an interesting twist: every character’s voice in each episode is done by the same person, Juan Carlos Ortega.
Entiende tu mente
But if you’re after something more relaxed, there’s also room for calmer shows that help settle your mood.
Like the most listened-to psychology podcast in Spanish, Entiende tu mente, where Molo Cebrián and Luis Muiño dive into the hottest mental health topics.
Todopoderosos
You’ve probably heard of these guys, but we couldn’t leave out Todopoderosos, a cult show of more than two hours in which well-known panellists Javier Cansado, Arturo González-Campos, Juan Gómez-Jurado and Rodrigo Cortés talk about all sorts of things, from cinema to literature.
Días extraños
Another option is Días extraños by Santiago Camacho, which focuses on mysteries and the hidden side of science, always with an intriguing touch that keeps you hooked.
These are just a few of the many options out there, but the most important thing is having a good place where you can listen to them all while you work comfortably. And that place has a name: Llum Coworking, in the centre of Valencia. Come and visit us and see everything we have for you first-hand. Shall we talk?
